Top 2014 recruit makes verbal pledge on National Signing Day.
Deshaun Watson, perhaps the top dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2014, has committed to Clemson.
Watson made the announcement on his Facebook page.
"I'm proud to say, I have committed to the University of Clemson! Living big dreams. #Blessed," Watson tweeted at 6:34 p.m. EST.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Watson
told MaxPreps last month that Clemson was his leader, so his verbal commitment comes as no surprise.
Watson enjoyed a superb sophomore campaign, throwing for 3,251 yards while rushing for 1,073 yards. He scored a whopping 57 total touchdowns, earned him
U.S. Air Force Sophomore All-American honors.
He is the second quarterback from the Class of 2014 to verbally commit; Pennsylvania signal caller
Chandler Kincade committed to Penn State in November.
