Game recap: Ensworth High School Football Team beats Pope John Paul II

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ensworth (Nashville, Tenn.) wasted no time with 28 points in the first quarter, eventually ending with a 56-3 victory over Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville, Tenn.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Tigers were up 42-3 at the half.

Ensworth grew its lead to 53 points entering the fourth quarter. EHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Rico McGraw.

Ensworth's most effective player was D'Andre Ferby. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 42-7 win for the Tigers.



With the win Ensworth extended its winning streak to three games.

In a Division II-AA game next week Ensworth (3-0) takes on Father Ryan, and Pope John Paul II (2-2) will go up against Baylor also in a Division II-AA game.
