Game recap: College Park wins tug-of-war struggle over Katy Taylor

College Park (The Woodlands, Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Brett Buckley thew a touchdown to Charrod Henry with with 5:00 left in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over Katy Taylor (Katy, Texas) 40-23.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Buckley to Henry in the second quarter, the Cavaliers led 20-16 at the half.

College Park expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. CP scored two times in the third, including once on a Connor McPherson touchdown run.

The The Woodlands school's standout player in the win was McPherson. The senior running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

With the win the Cavaliers extended their winning streak to three games. The loss was the third in a row for the Mustangs.

College Park (3-0) goes up against Clear Brook in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Katy Taylor (0-3) locks horns with Strake Jesuit in a 5A Region III District 19 game.
