Recap: Walnut Springs vs. Gordon

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Gordon and Walnut Springs. Gordon put a hurting on Walnut Springs to the tune of 70-24. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-16.

Walnut Springs got a solid performance out of senior Seth Schilling, who picked up 84 yards on the ground and accumulated 188 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. In fact, with 9 tackles Schilling was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse sophomore Tristan Whitt, who racked up 9 tackles. The contest pushed Walnut Springs down to 1-2 and pulled Gordon up to the reverse at 2-1.

Next week Gordon take on Iredell at 7:30 PM. Walnut Springs will stay at home against Avalon at 7:00 PM.
