The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. A special shoutout goes to Midway's senior Tanner Mordecai, who scored eight total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Points Galore
The Woodlands has been an offensive powerhouse for six straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Montgomery, finishing up at 69 - 31. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected The Woodlands as the clear winner. The combined 100 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Look Out Below
Judson put forth a good scoring effort last week and even improved upon it this week, but that didn't prove quite enough. It fought the good fight but suffered a stinging 40 - 37 defeat in overtime to Smithson Valley. One positive for Judson, at least, was the performance of Amarea Bailey. The talented underclassman threw for 204 yards and one touchdown. The rough outing dragged Judson down six positions in the power rankings -- the largest fall of the week.
Rocket Boost
It was onward and upward for Cedar Park this week as the team hoisted itself up 18 places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It finished its game with a 35 - 25 win. One major factor in the victory was the play of junior Ryan Fiala, who tossed the ball for 227 yards and three TDs.
