Photos of the Year: The best of 2013-14 high school sports captured by MaxPreps photographers

Slideshow highlights amazing images from 2013-14 prep sports year.

MaxPreps is known for having some of the top sports photographers in the nation covering high school sports, and the images captured by them are truly amazing.

There are over 1,000 freelance photographers across the country in the MaxPreps Professional Photographers' Network, and we recently asked those photographers to submit their three best photos from this past sports year - taken between Aug. 1 and June 30 - from the galleries they post on MaxPreps.

We have pared those submissions down to the best 20 images of the year, which are displayed in no particular order.
