The possible American League MVP gave up a promising career in the NFL.

He grew up in the tiny Northern California town of Linden, population, 1,784. He ended up in New York City, the most populous city in America with more than 8.5 million.

He started a short call-up season in 2016 with the Yankees hitting just .179. He ended 2017 with the Bronx Bombers with one of the biggest and grandest rookie campaign in Major League Baseball history, which included a record of 52 home runs.

At 6-foot-7, 282 pounds, he's considered one of the largest men to ever play the game.

Everything about Aaron Judge is gigantic — his frame, his swings, his rise to fame, the number 99 on his back, the distance of his home runs.

And Thursday, the almost assuredly American League Rookie of the Year and possible MVP embarks on the huge challenge of facing the Cleveland Indians in the AL playoffs.

See the video as we trace the very wide path of Judge, from a three-sport star at tiny Linden (Calif.) to mega stardom in the big leagues for sport's most famous franchise.
