After a disappointing 0 points in the matchup before, Cumby made sure to put some points up on the board against Trenton on Thursday. Cumby were able to grind out a solid victory over Trenton, winning 38-27. That result was just more of the same for Cumby, who also won the last time these teams played.
No one put up better numbers for Cumby than junior Cameron Scott, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Colby Lindsey, who racked up 12 tackles.
The win bumped Cumby's record up to 1-3. The loss dropped Trenton back to even at 2-2.
Cumby will stay at home next week against Detroit at 7:30 PM. Detroit took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Cumby's good fortune. As for Trenton, they will face off against Texoma Christian. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
