Lake Mary Prep extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Orlando Christian Prep, 47-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Grayson Jones and Jeremiah Sams gave Lake Mary Prep a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Jones threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while Sams ran for 251 yards. Ray Lewis lll also contributed to the rushing game with 190 yards on the ground.
Darshaun Ford was the best wideout in the league this week as Foundation Academy defeated Santa Fe Catholic. Ford tallied two receptions for 90 yards. Denzel Irvin helped Foundation Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
The Lions 's Alec Thompson and Ford have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Thompson has thrown for 1120 yards this season, while Ford, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 21 catches for 415 yards. Sams from Buck Gurley's team leads the league in rushing with 1705 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Agape Christian Academy takes on the Griffins. As it stands, the Saints are in third, while Lake Mary Prep is in first.
