Effingham won their last match against Mahomet-Seymour, and it was the same story this time around. Effingham steamrollered Mahomet-Seymour 64-28. Followers of Effingham probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Effingham's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 27 points in the first half. Mahomet-Seymour wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 27-7 heading into the break. Effingham put the matchup away in the third quarter with 30 points from the offense and seven points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 4-2. The loss dropped Mahomet-Seymour's record to 1-5.
Effingham will look to defend their home turf next week against Charleston at 7:00 PM. Charleston took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Effingham's good fortune. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will face off against Mt. Zion. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
