Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 42-12 win over
Gilmer (Texas).
The Lions scored 14 points in the first quarter. Prestonwood Christian scored on a passing touchdown, a passing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, PC led 29-6 at the half.
The Plano school expanded its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. The Lions scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Mickey Mitchell.
Prestonwood Christian's most effective player was Christian Morgan. The senior tight end caught two touchdowns. A member of the Top 25 Tight Ends, Morgan has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Buckeyes' Harrison Foster was the standout player for his team. The junior ran for one touchdown.
The loss comes after Gilmer defeated Atlanta 31-17 last week.
Prestonwood Christian (2-0) goes up against Royse City in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Gilmer (1-1) locks horns with Jacksonville also in a non-conference game.
