Eldorado took care of business in their home opener. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Texas Leadership Charter Academy 54-18. Eldorado was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Junior Kevan Covarrubiaz, who rushed for 208 yards and 5 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Edgar Muniz, who racked up 9 tackles. This was the first game for both teams, giving Eldorado a 1-0 record and starting Texas Leadership Charter Academy off at 0-1.
Eldorado will look to defend their home turf next week against Winters at 7:30 PM. As for Texas Leadership Charter Academy, they will face off against Irion County.
