Elkhart Memorial (Elkhart, Ind.) saw its 10-point lead dwindle to three, but still managed to hang on and defeat
Goshen (Ind.) 13-10 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Trevor Trowbridge to
Nathan Troutman in the second quarter, the Chargers led 6-3 at the half.
Goshen's only touchdown came on a 1-yard run by
Derek Demeyer in the fourth quarter.
A 17-10 Elkhart Memorial victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for EM, which was coming off a 38-7 defeat at the hands of Concord in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Redskins. The victory snapped Elkhart Memorial's two-game losing streak.
In a Northern Lakes game next week Goshen (0-3) takes on NorthWood, and Elkhart Memorial (1-2) will go up against Warsaw also in a Northern Lakes game.
