Hoover (Ala.) extended its winning streak to 12 games with a 33-14 victory over
Shades Valley (Birmingham, Ala.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, the Buccaneers were up 9-8 at the half.
Hoover expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a safety.
Led by
Marlon Humphrey, the Buccaneers came into the game allowing 6.1 points per game.
A 38-7 Hoover victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Shades Valley, who notched a 49-19 victory over Buckhorn in its previous outing. The loss broke Shades Valley's three-game winning streak.
