Peniel Baptist Academy and Cornerstone Academy face off this Saturday at 4:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Peniel Baptist Academy is currently on a seven-game winning streak and looking to extend its dominance.
Peniel Baptist Academy didn't have too many spare points last week in its contest with City of Life Christian Academy, but it still walked away with a 56 - 52 win.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Academy has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling nine) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Riverside Christian last week with a conclusive 65 - 20 victory. Junior Dominick Haight was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive four times. Haight should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Cornerstone Academy in the past five games. Sophomore Steven Benefield was in the mix too, providing Cornerstone Academy with two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Peniel Baptist Academy to 7-2 and Cornerstone Academy to 11-0. There could be some fireworks in this game: Peniel Baptist Academy has finished with big points in its past five games; likewise, Cornerstone Academy has had high scores in its last seven.
