One team will hope to extend its success while the other will aim to dust itself off when Los Gatos and Homestead face off Thursday. Milpitas delivered Homestead a harsh 45 - 7 defeat last week. As for Los Gatos, it took its contest against Saratoga last week by a conclusive 49 - 20 score.
Homestead's low-scoring defeat last week was the unsatisfying follow-up to its high-scoring outing the game before. It wasn't able to keep up yardage-wise, falling behind with 84 yards in comparison to Milpitas's 444. The defeat dropped Homestead's record to 3-6.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing seven points in the game before, Los Gatos made sure to put some points up on the board against Saratoga last week. Junior Kyle Smith was a defensive powerhouse in the win and ended up with 19 total tackles. Senior Tyler Davis banked an additional three TDs for the team. The win got Los Gatos up to 4-5.
Homestead has allowed an average of 37 points each game, and Los Gatos has allowed an average of 28. Hence, a good defensive effort could be the difference in this matchup.
