If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Longview. They will challenge Rockwall-Heath on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. Rockwall-Heath will need to watch out since Longview have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Longview might be getting used to good results now that the squad has six wins in a row. They steamrollered Horn 50-3. Longview's success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Haynes King, who passed for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns, and senior Keilyn Williams, who rushed for 99 yards and 1 touchdown. King has been a consistent playmaker for Longview as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 7-47, which was the final score in Rockwall-Heath's tilt against Rockwall last Friday. Rockwall-Heath were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-27.
Longview's win lifted them to 6-0 while Rockwall-Heath's loss dropped them down to 2-5. Rockwall-Heath's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Longview defensive front that amassed 26 sacks against Horn, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
