Hoover (Ala.) snapped
Tuscaloosa County (Northport, Ala.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 28-10 victory on Saturday.
After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Wildcats went ahead on a passing touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the third.
Hoover saw its 7-point halftime lead fall to four entering the fourth.
With the win HHS extended its winning streak to 10 games. The Buccaneers defeated the Tigers 14-0 last week.
Hoover's standout player in the win was
Michael Powers. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown.
Tuscaloosa County's lone touchdown came on a pass in the third quarter.
Led by
Marlon Humphrey, HHS came into the game allowing 7.3 points per game. TC's 10 points were below its season average of 14.8 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Tuscaloosa County, which notched a 17-14 victory over Hillcrest in its previous outing.
Tuscaloosa County (7-2) will play a non-conference game against Pell City next week, while Hoover (10-0) will take on Opelika also in a non-conference game.
