Head coach: Michael Curry
The Camels were the No. 1 team from the east last year, but lost two games in the state tournament and finished in fourth place. Campbell County returns one of the state's top players, however, in
Cody Kelley, who averaged 20 points and nearly seven assists per game last season. While four starters have departed from last year's 23-4 squad,
Bryce Lyman returns after averaging more than six points a game last year.
2. Evanston (Wyo.)2012-13 finish: 17-11, State champions
Head coach: Bubba O'Neill
The No. 3 team coming out of the west last year, Evanston got hot during the state tournament and won the 4A state title for the second year in a row. Coach Bubba O'Neill will have to replace his top two players in Matt Johnson and Jemini Licke, each of whom earned all-state honors last season. Johnson was also the conference MVP. Evanston has a strong history, though, winning at least 17 games in seven of the last eight seasons.
3. Riverton2012-13 finish: 27-6
Head coach: Keith Barlow
Riverton reached the Class 4A state championship game last season before falling to Evanston. Riverton loses four key starters from last year, including Seth Quayle, Kade Salisbury and Xavier Webb. However juniors
Chris Quayle and
Brandon Fullerton ranked among the conference's top 3-point shooters last season and will return to help make another run at the championship.
4. Walsh (Casper)2012-13 finish: 17-12
Head coach: Scott Marietta
The Trojans entered last season as the top-ranked team in the state and they earned the No. 1 seed from the West Conference for the state tournament, However Walsh lost to eventual champion Evanston in the second round and finished third. Look for the Trojans to remain near the top as all-conference pick
Kooper Adams returns along with second-team selection
Beecher Strube.
5. Powell2012-13 finish: 18-9
Head coach: Troy Hildebrandach
The Panthers came within two points of a state championship last year, falling to Star Valley in the Class 3A title game. However Powell could be the class of 3A this year thanks to the return of all-conference selections
Hayden Cragoe and
Kalei Smith. Cragoe is the team's top returning rebounder while Smith averaged 13.5 points per game last season.
