OAK HARBOR, Ohio - Special teams carried
Genoa Area (Genoa, Ohio) to a 63-7 victory over Oak Harbor (Ohio) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The special teams of the Comets scored on a kick return and a punt return.
After taking the lead on a punt return touchdown in the first quarter, Genoa Area was up 42-0 at the half.
GA grew its lead to 56 points entering the fourth quarter. The Genoa school scored two times in the third, including once on a kick return.
The Comets raced to 28 in the first quarter alone and kept up the pace for the win.
Oak Harbor's lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
A 51-13 Genoa Area victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Oak Harbor defeated Brookside 42-14 last week.
Oak Harbor (1-1) will play a non-conference game against Eastwood next week, while Genoa Area (2-0) will take on Port Clinton also in a non-conference game.
