The biggest upset of the week belonged to Strawberry Crest, who took down 237th ranked Strawberry Crest, 28-16. Young Kenyatta threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 62 yards in the win.
Hillsborough extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 8 this week by beating Leto, 65-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Terriers.
Josh Hyde was the best wideout in the league this week as the Chargers lost to King. Hyde racked up 10 receptions for 122 yards. Karel Hamilton helped Strawberry Crest's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 109 yards.
Tristan Hyde provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Strawberry Crest fell to the Lions. He completed 28 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 24 yards.
Dwayne Lawson put up the best numbers through the air as Hillsborough beat the Falcons. He finished with a total of 16 completions for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Lawson's favorite target this week was Curtis Thomas, who caught seven passes for 93 yards.
Ray Ray McCloud III was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 175 yards on 12 carries as Sickles lost to King. Teammate Yhaquille Grant added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.
The Chargers' Hyde and Hamilton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A District 8 in both passing and receiving yards. Hyde has thrown for 1341 yards this season, while Hamilton, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 27 catches for 466 yards. McCloud III from the Gryphons leads the league in rushing with 544 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Armwood takes on Sickles. At the moment, the Hawks are in second, while Brian Turner's team is in third.
Alvin Davis's team moved up to 252 from 287 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 28-16 win over Strawberry Crest helped the Lions improve their standing.
