IV Section I recap October 1, 2013
Window Rock led IV Section I in scoring this week by notching 48 points on Valley. Delano (Tony) Walker ran for 198 yards in the win.
Walker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Fighting Scouts topped the Pirates. Walker's key target this week was Ohiya Salway, who caught 4 passes for 28 yards.
Redmond Delmar put up the best numbers in passing as Monument Valley fell to Snowflake. He had a total of 13 completions for 115 yards. Delmar's favorite target this week was Keanu Mitchell, who caught 2 passes for 42 yards.
The Mustangs' Delmar and Mitchell have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Delmar has thrown for 1,149 yards this season, while Mitchell, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 24 catches for 460 yards. Window Rock's Walker leads the league in rushing yards with 755.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Winslow takes on Greg Barker's team. The Bulldogs are currently in fourth, while the Fighting Scouts are in first.
Window Rock made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,823 from 12,545. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-16 victory over Valley last week.
