SALEM, Ore. -
West Salem (Salem, Ore.) took an early lead against
South Salem (Salem, Ore.) and held on for a 53-28 victory on Saturday.
The Titans scored 12 points in the first quarter. West Salem scored on a passing touchdown and a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, WS led 32-7 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 25 entering the fourth.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 30-29 win for the Titans.
The loss comes after South Salem defeated McKay 36-3 last week. With the win West Salem extended its winning streak to four games.
South Salem (3-5) will play a 6A Central Valley game against North Salem next week, while West Salem (7-1) will take on McNary also in a 6A Central Valley game.
