Apple Valley might be getting used to good results now that the team has eight wins in a row. They took down Sultana 49-31. Among those leading the charge for Apple Valley was senior Jeff Widener, who passed for 387 yards and 5 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Widener's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past eight games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Hesperia, and their matchup last Thursday only extended their streak of losses to three. They were completely outmatched, falling 7-50 to Oak Hills. Hesperia were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-43.
Apple Valley took the match and then some with a 42-7 victory over Hesperia the last time the two teams met.
