Football Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Mojave Rattlers

Arbor View is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Mojave is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Arbor View Aggies will host the Mojave Rattlers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Arbor View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.1 points per game this season.

Arbor View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They breezed past Legacy to the tune of 53-15. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by 23 points or more this season.

Arbor View found their leader in freshman Priscilla Garcia, who rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 113 yards and one touchdown. Those 58 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Jayda Emil made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Arbor View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Emil and Karah Foss.

Meanwhile, Mojave faced Pinecrest Academy Cadence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Mojave won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Pinecrest Academy Cadence 13-12. The victory continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Arbor View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points over those games. As for Mojave, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

Everything came up roses for Arbor View against Mojave when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 40-12 victory. Will Arbor View repeat their success, or does Mojave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
