Fairfax has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. Both it and Narbonne have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Fairfax is currently on a eight-game winning streak and looking to extend its dominance.
Fairfax kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It finished ahead of Birmingham last week by a score of 40 - 35. Senior Darryl Carrington was a defensive powerhouse in the win and ended up with 19 total tackles. Carrington has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past five consecutive games. Junior Scott Harris banked an additional two TDs for the team.
As for Narbonne, it can now show off six landslide victories after its most recent game. It breezed past San Pedro last week with a final score of 48 - 14. Senior Jermar Jefferson didn't have many carries in the previous game, but he had more touches this time and made them count as he ran for 182 yards and punched in four touchdowns. This sound performance was nothing new for Jefferson, who has been a rock for Narbonne in the past ten games. Another highlight for the team was the 366 passing yards from senior Jalen Chatman.
Their wins bumped Narbonne to 8-3 and Fairfax to 9-2. Narbonne and Fairfax had some big point totals in their last games, so we'll see if they bring that energy into this game.
