C2 District 10 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Perkins County extended the longest winning streak in C2 District 10 this week by beating Cambridge, 44-22. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Plainsmen.
Bayard took down Dundy County 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kimball's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Pile threw for 94 and two touchdowns and Caleb Reuter had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Bernie Bridge chipped in 63 yards. Jonathon Withrow helped Kimball's passing attack out by catching two balls for 23 yards.
Pile made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Longhorns beat Mitchell. The 5-foot-8 senior grabbed one interception.
Kimball's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Longhorns feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pile has thrown for 197 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Reuter has seven catches for 103 yards. Pile also leads the league in rushing with 136 yards.
Kimball made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,927 from 12,639. The improvement came about via a 33-24 victory over the Tigers last week.
