I Section V recap September 4, 2013
Dalton Sneed and Kristian Salinas provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Marcos de Niza. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in I Section V this season.
Horizon's Luke Quinn rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Padres last week. Quinn ran for 65 yards on the play and finished with 101 on the day as his team fell to Marcos de Niza.
Horizon's dynamic duo of Sneed and Salinas proved to be unstoppable against Roy Lopez's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sneed threw for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns and Salinas had 115 yards receiving. Jason McLaurin helped Horizon's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 80 yards.
Kris Heavner's team's dynamic duo of Sneed and Salinas proved tough for the Padres to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Salinas was the best wideout in the league this week as the Huskies fell to Marcos de Niza.
Jro Byrd was a key player and the best on defense this week as Boulder Creek lost to Mountain View. The 5-foot-8 senior.
Josh Hoekstra was the best running back in I Section V this week. He ran for 131 yards on 21 carries as Pinnacle fell to the Padres. Teammate Brian Lewerke added to the ground attack by rushing for 40 yards.
Sneed put up the best numbers through the air as the Huskies fell to Marcos de Niza.
He was 19-29 with 1 interceptions.

Mountain Ridge was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Cesar Chavez. The Mountain Lions came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
