The postseason has brought with it a whole lot of change in the power rankings. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
Glass not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Jefferson Forest in every quarter. The final score between Glass and Jefferson Forest was a 63 - 28 blowout in Glass's favor. Glass did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The combined 91 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Woodson (21st in the MaxPreps state rankings) and South County (31st). Woodson took its game by a score of 20 - 10. The win boosted it a satisfying five spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Maury this week as the team hoisted itself up eight places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It was a close one, but it sidestepped Salem for the 31 - 28 win. Maury and Salem were a much more even match than Maury's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
