KING GEORGE, Va. -
Dominion (Sterling, Va.) kept up a steady attack all game long to upset
King George (Va.), 35-13, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Chad Smith in the first quarter, the Titans led 21-7 at the half.
Dominion grew its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Smith.
The final score was a stunner, as the Sterling school was ranked No. 169 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Virginia, far below King George's spot at No. 80.
The Titans had given up an average of 17.6 points prior to the contest. King George came in surrendering 14.4 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for King George, which notched a 27-0 victory over Chancellor in its previous outing. The loss ended King George's two-game winning streak. With the win Dominion extended its winning streak to three games.
