Van's Brandon Elswick rumbled for the longest rushing play in Freelance this season in his game against Richwood last week. Elswick ran for 63 yards on the play and finished with 204 on the day as his team bested the Lumberjacks.
Point Pleasant added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Brooke, 35-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Greenbrier East's Isaiah Kinder and Kamen Reynolds have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Kinder has thrown for 587 yards this season, while Reynolds has 12 catches for 263 yards. Van's Elswick leads the league in rushing yards with 938.
Elswick of the Steve Price's team is only 62 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Elswick has rushed for 938 yards on 107 carries so far this year.
The Spartans are currently in fifth, while Lincoln County is in ninth.
The Bulldogs and Richwood played the most contested game in Freelance this week, with the Bulldogs eventually emerging with a 39-35 victory. Elswick threw for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 204 yards during the win.
