Last year, Mililani, 34-5 over its last three years, won its first state crown with a wild 53-45 victory over Punahou in the finals before almost 20,000 fans at Aloha Stadium.
Mckenzie Milton, a 6-foot, 175-pound quarterback, threw a state title game-record seven touchdowns in that game, four to 6-3, 200-pound receiver
Kalakaua Timoteo. Both were juniors last season.
Though Milton and Timoteo starred in last year's state title game, Mililani's standout is
Vavae Malepeai, a 6-foot, 195-pound running back who has committed to Oregon. He's ranked the No. 23 running back in the country by 247Sports and has run a 4.44-second time in the 40-yard dash.
