5A East recap October 22, 2013
Tyler Calver of Greene County Tech ran for the longest rushing play in 5A East this season against Nettleton last week. Calver ran for 74 yards on the play and finished with 124 on the day as his team fell to the Raiders.
Batesville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Wynne. The Pioneers came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 31 last week.
Greene County Tech's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Golden Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dylan Hartwig has thrown for 858 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Cole Sheffer has 16 catches for 336 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Forrest City takes on Nettleton. The Mustangs are currently in second, while Donnie Tennison's team is in fourth.
Batesville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Yellowjackets, 37-12. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
