The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday West Allegheny takes on McKeesport in the first playoff game of the year. West Allegheny will be bringing a perfect record into the contest.
West Allegheny blew past Woodland Hills last week 35 - 7. Junior running back Kenny White was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 69 yards and also punched in two touchdowns). White has been a consistent playmaker for West Allegheny as this was the 8th good game in a row from him.
As for McKeesport, it came out on top in a nail-biter against Gateway last week, sneaking past 41 - 38. The outcome was a nice jolt of excitement for McKeesport after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Their wins bumped West Allegheny to 11-0 and McKeesport to 9-2. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, West Allegheny and McKeesport will really light up the scoreboard.
