This week, Meridian (3-5) and Columbia (4-4) square off against each other on Friday at 7:00 PM. Meridian might be a bit distressed seeing as how its point totals have been consistently dropping over the past three games.
Meridian had a lot of difficulties with Capital last game and took a hard 38 - 6 hit. Capital was expected to win (it is ranked 5th in the state, 18 places ahead of Meridian), but it was still a bitter blow.
As for Columbia, it claimed a 27 - 17 victory over Boise last week. Junior Allamar Alexander was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 188 yards and also punched in two touchdowns). This marked the 3rd consecutive game in which Alexander had 100+ rushing yards.
The last time they met, Meridian pulled ahead with a 28 - 27 photo finish. Will it come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
