Plaquemine (La.) trailed
Lutcher (La.) by 17 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 36-32 victory on Saturday.
The Bulldogs pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Dondre Semien, and subsequently went into halftime leading 25-15. The Devils took the lead for good with a touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Plaquemine still trailed by nine points going into the fourth quarter. But 15 points in the fourth helped PHS pull out the victory.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Lutcher took, 34-7.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lutcher, which notched a 61-6 victory over Tara in its previous outing. The loss ended Lutcher's two-game winning streak.
Lutcher (2-6) will play a 4A District 6 game against Belaire next week, while Plaquemine (6-2) will take on St. Michael also in a 4A District 6 game.
