Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Newsome should expect quite the challenge on Friday. Their bye week comes to an end as they meet up with Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 PM . Riverview Sarasota will be strutting in after a victory while Newsome will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Two weeks ago, Newsome came up short against Riverview, falling 26-35. Newsome got a solid performance out of freshman Jason Albritton, who rushed for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They steamrollered Palm Harbor University 52-14. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-7.
