On Friday Neshoba Central will take on Ridgeland at 7:00 PM. Neshoba Central are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
If Neshoba Central were riding high off their 54-29 takedown of Canton two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Neshoba Central took a hard 21-36 fall against Germantown. Despite the defeat, Neshoba Central saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Jarquez Hunter rushed for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns. That makes it nine straight good games in a row from Hunter.
As for Ridgeland, they had a rough outing against Callaway, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Ridgeland were the clear victor by a 54-30 margin over Vicksburg. Followers of Ridgeland probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Ridgeland's win lifted them to 5-3 while Neshoba Central's loss dropped them down to 7-2. The Ridgeland defense got after the quarterback against Vicksburg to the tune of five sacks, so Neshoba Central's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the game.
