LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior
Madeline Vejvoda of Papillion (Neb.)-LaVista High School was selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games played the week of Oct. 9-15.
Over a four-game stretch, Vejvoda hit .615 (8-for-13) with three doubles, a triple, home run, 10 RBI and five runs scored. She recorded a .643 on-base percentage and slugged 1.230 in helping the Monarchs claim their 14th Class A state championship. In the title game against Lincoln Southwest, she was a long ball away from the cycle. Vejvoda was 3-for-4 with two doubles a triple, three RBI and three runs scored. One of those hits, a two-run double, was part of an explosive 11-run first inning. Vejvoda opened the state tournament with a double, homer and five RBI in a 10-0 triumph over Grand Island. She also drove in two runs versus Millard South.

The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week are announced on
NFCA.org
every Monday during the fall season with one representative chosen from
the participating regions. During the spring campaign, a player from
each of five separate high school regions is selected.
