4A District 2 recap November 13, 2013
Taylor County made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,791 from 3,228. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 54-12 victory over Hamilton County last week.
The Bulldogs led 4A District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on the Trojans.
Fort White's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Andrew Baker contributed 101 yards. Christian Helsel helped Fort White's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
Baker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Indians bested Buchholz. Baker's key target this week was Melton Sanders, who caught 5 passes for 54 yards.
Baker was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 101 yards as Fort White beat the Bobcats. Kellen Snider also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
Fort White's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Baker has thrown for 474 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Sanders has 23 catches for 277 yards.
Fernandina Beach led the league in points allowed with 7.
