St. Joseph has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. This Friday it takes on Paraclete in the first playoff game of the year. The two teams picked up some nice yardage in their most recent games (544 for St. Joseph and 512 for Paraclete), so expect some excitement on the offensive end of the ball.
St. Joseph got a somewhat close 49 - 44 victory over Harvard-Westlake last week. Senior Timothy Miller was a defensive powerhouse in the win and ended up with 12 total tackles.
As for Paraclete, it can now show off seven landslide victories after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Ventura last week as it secured a 42 - 0 win. Paraclete received a great game from senior Brevin White, who passed for 366 yards. This sound performance was nothing new for White, who has been a rock for Paraclete in the past three games. Junior Melquan Stovall banked an additional two TDs for the team.
Their wins bumped Paraclete to 10-1 and St. Joseph to 7-4. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, St. Joseph and Paraclete will really light up the scoreboard.
