4A Region 4 recap November 5, 2013
Noxubee County extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 4 this week by beating Houston, 34-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Tigers.
Noxubee County took down the Hilltoppers 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tamorris Conner threw for 120 yards and 1 touchdown during the win.
Ben Marchbanks threw for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 17-33 with 0 interceptions.
Lavonta Luckett was a beast in the backfield as Leake Central lost to Caledonia.
Luckett was the best running back in the league this week. In 36 carries, he ran for 314 yards as the Gators defeated the Gators. Teammate Jamari Green added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Greg Collins. The Leake Central star has 25 catches for 419 yards.
Luckett has rushed for 945 yards on 118 carries so far this year.
Caledonia and Leake Central played the closest game in the league this week, with Caledonia eventually emerging with a 40-36 victory. Marchbanks ran for 61 yards in the win.
