Even if things were shuffled around here and there, the power rankings for this week won't seem too unfamiliar if you've been following along. Don't let that fool you into thinking nothing interesting happened, though. The action last week included a one-point thriller between Carmel and Fort Wayne Snider.
Welcome
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Greenwood earned the 24th spot after its strong showing last week. It snuck past Mississinewa with a 34 - 27 victory. Senior Seth Gallman deserves a lot of the credit as he ran for 98 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.
Can't Touch This
Eastbrook's 56 - 26 win over Lapel last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Andrew Barajas. Barajas rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns. That performance landed Barajas among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Avon (3rd in the power rankings) and Center Grove (7th). Avon claimed a 32 - 21 victory over Center Grove. Senior Cameron Misner was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he tossed the ball for 261 yards and three TDs).
No Stoppin 'Em
Eastbrook and Lapel went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (82) among all power ranked teams. Eastbrook took its contest against Lapel by a conclusive 56 - 26 score. The win raised Eastbrook up two spots in the power rankings.
