Altoona-Midway took a serious blow against Maranatha Christian Academy last Friday, falling 14-74. This makes it the second loss in a row for Altoona-Midway.
Meanwhile, Oswego had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 30-22 victory over Marmaton Valley. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (24) and coasted on those for the victory.
Oswego's win lifted them to 2-0 while Altoona-Midway's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. In their win, Oswego relied heavily on junior Jace Wilson, who rushed for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Altoona-Midway will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
