2A Tri-River recap October 22, 2013
Regis's Jeremiah Grieser recorded the longest rushing play in 2A Tri-River this season in his game against Santiam last week. Grieser's team topped the Wolverines as he sprinted for 85 yards on the play and finished with 315 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Regis beat Santiam 60-15. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Trenton Marquart threw for 160 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 8-16 with 0 interceptions.
Grieser provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Rams beat Brad Emmert's team. Grieser's favorite target this week was Zach Gescher, who caught 2 passes for 42 yards.
Grieser was a force in the backfield as Regis beat the Wolverines.
Marquart put up the best numbers through the air as Waldport topped Chemawa Indian. Marquart's favorite target this week was Kraig Pruett, who caught 4 passes for 86 yards.
The Irish's Marquart and Pruett led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Marquart has thrown for 879 yards this season, while Pruett has 23 catches for 400 yards. Grieser from the Rams leads the league in rushing with 1,464 yards.
The top two teams in 2A Tri-River will face off this week when first place Regis takes on second place Central Linn.
Waldport took down the Braves 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Marquart in the win.
