4A Division 3 recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Division 3 this week, Dowling beat Ankeny Centennial 42-10. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Maroons.
Mason City moved up to 110 from 145 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mohawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Ottumwa 17-14.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Dowling takes on second place Ottumwa. Dowling beat Ankeny Centennial last week, while the Bulldogs lost to Mason City.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ottumwa takes on Tom Wilson's team. Zach Wigle's team has allowed 88 points this season, while the Maroons have given up 97. The Bulldogs allowed 17 points last week as they fell to John Lee's team.
Dowling took down Jerry Pezzetti's team 42-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
