Just one year ago, the nation saw a pair of teams battle it out for the
longest win streak in national history. Portsmouth (N.H.)
Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, Iowa)
went back and forth during the 2011 and
2012 seasons in setting the national record. Portsmouth set the original
record of 76 in 2011, only to have Martensdale-St. Mary's, which plays
its season in the summer, break the record later that year.
2012, Portsmouth reset the record at 89 straight wins before finally losing. Martensdale-St. Marys added to its streak, but fell short
of the national mark with 88 in a row.
