Fox River Classic recap September 4, 2013
Notre Dame Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 123 from 167 this week, the biggest jump in Fox River Classic. The Tritons climbed the ranks as a result of beating De Pere 7-0.
Preble was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from 10th to sixth in the league. The Hornets vanquished Pulaski 38-7 earlier in the week.
Conner Harrison was the best wideout in the league this week as South defeated West. Harrison tallied 2 receptions for 77 yards.
Boris Ristivojevic provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Redwings bested the Wildcats.
Alec Ingold put up the best numbers in passing as Bay Port defeated East. He finished with 3 completions for 50 yards.
Ristivojevic was the most successful running back in Fox River Classic this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 189 yards as South topped West. Teammate Andrew Wildman added to the ground attack by rushing for 29 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Chris Hein's team's Robert Hoffmann and Mitchell Martinez have proven to be a lethal combination. Hoffmann has thrown for 158 yards this season, while Martinez has 4 catches for 84 yards. The Pirates' Kolton Huff leads the league in rushing yards with 147.
An important game coming up this the league this week will be when Southwest takes on Ashwaubenon. The Fighting Trojans are currently in first, while the Jaguars are in fourth.
The Red Devils fell to Bay Port 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
