Spectrum took the matchup and then some with a 58-16 victory on Friday over Concordia Academy. Fans of Spectrum have seen this all before: every one of Spectrum's games this year has ended as a stomp.
Spectrum's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 38 first-half points. Concordia Academy countered with 3 points, leaving the score at 38-3 going into the half. The offense for Spectrum continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 20 points to put the game away. They added further sheen to their flawless record, now 7-0. The loss dropped Concordia Academy's record to 4-3.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Next week Spectrum take on St. Anthony Village at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown. Concordia Academy will be staying on the road, facing off against Minneapolis North.
