Petyon Manning, the NFL's top fantasy scorer, has helped make New Orleans the top city in the country for producing fantasy football players.
USATSI
Ever wonder if growing up in a certain area makes you a better fantasy football player? Probably not, but let's find out anyway.
Taking a list of the top 30 fantasy football players at the four main offensive positions (QB, RB, WR, TE), we broke them down into the metro areas where the players went to high school. Metro area borders are based on
designated media markets.
Then we took the average amount of fantasy points produced by the players from that city in 2013 to come up with the top fantasy football producing areas in the country.
Thanks in large part to No. 1 fantasy quarterback Peyton Manning and No. 2 running back Matt Forte, New Orleans dominated the competition with 131.3 average fantasy points.
Dallas came in second with Adrian Peterson and Matthew Stafford leading the way.
While New Orleans may win for average performance, Los Angeles and Miami are the winners in terms of volume. There are eight players from Los Angeles ranked in the top 30 for their position, while Miami fills out the list with seven.
To be eligible for the list, a team must have at least four players ranked in the top 30 at their position. If a team had more than four players, the average of the best four players was taken.
Check out the list below to see where your hometown ranks in terms of NFL fantasy value. Next to each player is his high school, followed by his fantasy position rank.
